I haven't quite got back into the rhythm of blogging after changing my blog hosts. Will try to do better!
April and May were definitely unseasonal, so grey, wet and cold. There were workshops here and there. Plenty dyeing of threads.. A little stitching but no gardening!
Drastic action needed. We found an 'empty' week and escaped to Greece, Kalamaki to be precise, in the Messinia region of the Pelopennese. Way off the tourist trail, no big resorts or crowds, perfect. Where to stay? We did a search and found Villa Petra. Niassia and Nico were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Our apartment was huge with all you could want, and more. (website in Links).
So, days on a deserted beach looking across the bay to the majestic Taygetos Mountains - we were enjoying the sun whilst the opposite coast was swathed in mist and we could see snow on the mountains ; a little culture at Ancient Messini, which was incredible; a trip to the main town, Kalamatta, which was interesting in so many ways! The ancient centre is the home of the Messini Museum full of wonderful objects, a feast for the eyes.
There are more photos on Instagram.
Workshops - all the stitching workshops are now fully booked. There are a few places left for indigo, procion dyeing and the 'Messy Day" workshop. For more information contact me.
